Oil Pit Remediation

Weathered crude oils stored in open and unlined pits pose several environmental, safety, and health issues. These oil pits remain idle for months or years exposed to the open environment. During this time, the oil mixture becomes so weathered and solid that the only solution is to excavate which is nearly impossible in large volumes or is very expensive.

Processing and recovery of clean oil is possible through the use of complex technologies involving the use of mechanical equipment and chemicals. Aqua- Guard’s RotoX technology now used to recover ultra- heavy oil from ponds around the world. The RotoX works in conjunction with Aqua-Guard’s patented RBS TRITON oil skimming technology by macerating large oil solids into a slurry. The slurry is then pumped for processing. Aqua-Guard’s clients are now able to process and potentially reuse much of this recovered ultra-heavy oil which has been a burden to the oil companies and the environment for years.
